The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission was formed in 1988 to liaise with Government of Arunachal Pradesh for all matters pertaining to the appointments to various categories of posts, as required by the Appointing Authorities.

Following the footsteps of Madras Service Commission, dawned in 1930, Government of India issued instructions authorizing other states also to form an Institution under the name and style “State Public Service Commission” and vested with it the authority and power to select candidates for Government jobs of various categories. There are around 30 Public service Commissions functioning as a backbone and forerunner in India.

The APPSC at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, had evolved a standard procedure and streamlined the guidelines to: -
- (1)Publish Notification to call for applications
- (2)Scrutinizing applications.
- (3)Prepare list of candidates eligible for written test.
- (4)Communicate the applicants the date of examination, venue, timing, etc.
- (5)Inform the successful candidates to appear for Personal Interview before the Appointing authorities, by strictly following the appointment procedure.
- (6)Sending Appointment Orders with applicable Pay structure and benefits of leave and other facilities for respective positions, concurrently keeping the Appointing Authorities informed.
In Arunachal Pradesh Job vacancies, there is a requirement of Range Forest Officer and Boiler Inspector in the range of Gazetted officer, in various Government Departments. Applications are issued in Commission’s office and aspiring candidates can obtain forms by paying applicable fees and fill them up, enclosing certified copies of documents to prove their age, qualification, physical fitness, experience and two recent passport size photos and forward them to the Secretary of APPSC, indicating the name of the post applied on right hand corner of the envelope
For meeting the requirement of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission recruitment 2012 for the gazetted post of District Statistic Officer/Research Officers, during the year 2011 the APPSC notification has started taking up the process and procedures, as stated above. Written tests in subjects as General English, General studies, Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Commerce is conducted and after the examinations, viva-voce tests also arranged and the minimum prescribed marks of 33% in each subject and aggregate of 45% should be scored to become eligible for personal interview.
There are about 23 vacancies for the post of Assistant Professors in English, Mathematics, Economics, Hindi, Political science in all Arunachal Pradesh Government Colleges.
Notifications are issued in the Government Gazatte, prescribing therein the requisite qualification as Masters Degree in the specified subjects with preferably Ph.D awarded by UGC. As for other posts, physically handicapped applicants and candidates belonging to SC/ST/MBC categories will be given relaxation in percentage of marks and upper limit in age.
Applications were made available in the Commission’s office at Itanagar on payment of applicable fees (Concessional fee applicable for SC/ST and special category persons) in favour of the Secretary, and completed applications with attested copies of Matriculation/School Final certificate for age proof and University Degree certificate for proof of qualification and Mark sheets issued by the University. Apart from these documents, any other extra qualifications relevant to this post, if attained, certified copy(s) of the same may also be enclosed.
Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Recruitment 2012 – APPSC Jobs
Arunachal Pradesh PSC job vacancies include, requirement of Judges in their Judicial system, such as Public Prosecutor, Assistant Public Prosecutor, District Civil Judge, Assistant District Judge. For these posts also APPSC conducts examinations, written tests, ranks their marks, arrange viva-voce tests and personal interviews to assess the awareness of the law applicants’ knowledge and their aptitude in that profession.
Candidates already in employment in Government service or any Public Sector Undertakings shall submit their applications directly to the Commission with ‘No Objection’ certificate from the concerned Head of the Department. Acceptance/rejection of application is vested with the APPSC results and it has the right to do as it feels and cannot be questioned in any court of law. Mere eligibility to apply will not grant any right to the applicant to claim for appointment, as the decision of the Commission will be binding and final.
