Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) Recruitments: Vital to the Preservation of our Environment
One of the government bodies that is working hard towards preserving our environment is the Rain Forest Research Institute in Jorhat, Assam. This body comes under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry but is an autonomous body. It was set up in 1988 and conducts research into the protection of the rich forests of North-East India, covering states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya. What can be expected in a job at RFRI: Basically, the selected candidate will be an Junior Research Fellow, which means he will help the P.I. in field work. The collection and tabulation of data will be done by the junior research fellow . These posts are temporary ones and the candidates selected for them, will be for a fixed tenure. They cannot expect to be automatically absorbed by the RFRI.
RFRI Recruitment Procedure
The recruitment procedure at RFRI are as follows. The RFRI job openings, are advertised on the official website www.rfri.icfre.gov.in. If the candidate finds that his qualifications are suitable for any of the vacancies, he/she can apply for it. This can be done by typing his/her details on an A-4 size paper according to the requirements of RFRI. When he/she is submitting his/her application, he/she must see that it is accompanied by attested certificates of age, educational qualifications and category. If the candidate is seeking special relaxation for the age criterion etc. he/she must ensure that the relevant certificate is given along with his application to be eligible for RFRI jobs.
The candidates whose application forms have been found suitable receive information about the date, time and location of the written test. The centre allotted to the candidate will not be changed. He/she must attend the test at the centre that has been allocated to him. Candidates who pass the written test, must then appear for an interview.
The RFRI recruitment results will be intimated by the RFRI. The decision of the director regarding the selection of the candidates is final. Also, the candidates will be compensated for the expenses incurred for travel and stay during the written test and personal interview.
