Indian Air Force was started in October 1932 and became fully and officially operational in April 1933. In the inception stage it had only six trained Officers and nineteen (Airmen) soldiers. There were teething problems in the formation stage and only five flights were put into Service in selective state capitals. Before independence, Air force was under the control British and it was named as “Royal Air force” and after partition of countries as ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’ as separate countries and India became republic in 1950, the India-based Air Force set-up was renamed as “ Indian Air Force” and the strength of various types of Aircrafts and personnel has been increased phenomenally to cater the growing tension in the frontiers. Engineers with Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Tele-communication or Instrumentation degree, with BE/B.Tech. can apply for the post of Aeronautical Engineer, to the respective Command Education officer, (Air commands) belonging to Western, Southern, Eastern, Northern Head quarters. All applications for the Indian Air Force recruitment for Engineers should be typed in A4 size paper in the pre-designed format, duly filled in English along with self-addressed stamped envelopes and sent to the respective State-wise Regional Head Quarters office as indicated. Common Admission Tests and Personal interviews apart from HR Interviews are conducted for Engineers to become Aeronautical Engineers for posting as Ground Duty officers for Men and Women, in flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch.
