Karnataka Power Corporation was started in 1970 to maintain and develop the immense electricity generated in the state of Karnataka, which has the laurels of having the first power project built as early as 1902, which was Asia’s first hydro-electric power station. Bangalore also hosts the plant for generating the first AC current in the country. Currently it hosts around 34 dams and 25 power stations across the state generating around 6000Mw in hydel, thermal, solar and wind energy with 9500MW in pipeline. - 1. Assistant Engineer (Civil): BE/AMIE in Civil Engineering.(Note: Civil- Environment and Civil-Transportation are not eligible)
- 2. Assistant Engineer (Electrical): BE/AMIE in Electrical Engineering (Reservations are available for Electronics Engineering students).
- 3. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): BE/AMIE in Civil Engineering.
- (Note: Industrial Production/ Automobile are not eligible)
- 4. Junior Engineer (Civil):3 year Diploma in Civil Engineering
- 5. Junior Engineer (Electrical):3 year Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Age limit: 25-40 years on the date of application (Subjected to change based on the gender and caste of the candidate)
Note: The candidates are required to have had Kannada as their language in SSLC.

Candidates must make a watch for KPTCL job notifications in the website which is usually posted in the month of September every year. An application fee of Rs.200/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST candidates) is required to be paid through State Bank of India Branches only, in the current account number: 00000031480010180. In case if there are no State Bank of India branches available the amount is to be transferred through NEFT mode to the account SBIN0009077, with beneficiary as KPTCL, for which the UTR No., challan number, date and other details have to be entered in the Karnataka power corporation recruitment application form, available at the website www.karnatakapower.com.
KPCL Recruitment Procedure
For being recruited into the organisation the candidates applying for Karnataka power corporation jobs 2012 must undertake a written test at Bangalore, of which the date and venue will be informed in the page of KPTCL.
